EA Sports Active Review

A little over a month ago I bought Wii Fit with the Wii balance board. I was getting a decent workout with it and soon after I saw that EA was working on their own fitness package, EA Sports Active. I pre-ordered it back in April and got it last week. Here is a quick review of it.

Firstly EA Sports Active comes with two extra accessories, a resistance band and a leg strap. The game also supports the balance board but does not require it. This is a nice option for people who have the board but does not limit the product to those who don’t.

There is not much of a game here but there are a great amount of exercises to choose from. You can also create your own workout routines unlike in Wii Fit. Like I mentioned above some of the exercises also support the balance board. The motion sensing controls work very well.

The resistance band works well for simulating weight lifting. However the leg strap seems pointless to me. First off the thing keeps slipping on my leg even when I have it as tight as it can go. I actually found it easier to do the exercises that require the leg strap by simply putting the Wii Nunchuck in my pocket. The leg strap is basically the same. It is just a strap with a pocket on it. I found the leg strap to be a pointless accessory for this game.

Overall though EA Sports Active is a great fitness program. My only major gripe being the leg strap. So if you are looking for a nice at home workout program EA Sports Active is a great choice.
