G.I. Joe – The Rise of Cobra Quick Review

I saw G.I. Joe – The Rise of Cobra late Monday night with some friends of mine. Here is a quick review of the movie. Overall I enjoyed it. There were a few things I didn’t like but overall the action was good, the story was decent and it wasn’t too short or too long, just right.

A few things with some of the characters was not done well and didn’t really feel like the same characters from the classic cartoon. The biggest example of this is with The Baroness. In the movie she didn’t have her eastern European accent and was probably the weakest character in the movie because it was not true to the original. The other characters were done in a better fashion. The best one being Snake Eyes. Snake Eyes kicked ass in this movie. My only complaint about his character was the lips on his mask. He never talks so lips on his mask are totally pointless.

The action and fight scenes were all really well done and there is no shortage of them either. From the battle in the G.I. Joe base to the car chase in the streets of Paris all of the action was well done.

Overall G.I. Joe is a decent summer movie and stays fairly true to the source material, there are a few exceptions but overall it felt like G.I. Joe should.
